Letter from the Secretary of the Treasury, (in reply to a resolution of the House of Representatives of the 19th instant,) requiring information of the number of inspectors, weighers, gaugers, and measurers employed in each port of the United States, and the compensation allowed to each for the last five years. Also, a statement of the Fifth Auditor of the Treasury, exhibiting the names of persons employed as agents for building and supplying light-houses, revenue cutters, and marine hospitals, for the last five years, with the compensation paid to each of them.
