| Item Description: | Title from cover typescript. Assembled 17 years after her death by her niece, Annabel Farjeon for possible book publication. Includes Annabel Farjeon's one-page cover typescript (with autograph corrections), and a one-page typed rejection letter from Muriel Gascoin of Pelham Books Ltd., London, dated 24 January 1983. Despite the rejection of the 'Omnibus' Annabel Farjeon's biography of her aunt 'Morning has broken' (London : J. MacRae, 1986) incorporated some of the material proposed for this collection. "The American adventure", carbon typescript (25 pages), an account, with quotations from letters and her diary, of a visit to New York in 1938 during the preparation for Marc Connelly's production of her (and Herbert Farjeon's) play "The two bouquets". With holograph corrections in ink in Eleanor Farjeon's hand -- "Mr. Snag" (4 pages), typescript with a few lines containing penciled corrections, of an anecdote about Mr. Gans and his remedy for "Falling hair" -- "The Arraigment of Phryne", carbon typescript (7 pages), with a minor penciled addition. An operetta written with Herbert Farjeon. With a coversheet in blue pencil and ink "NELLIE & Bertie" -- "Walking with Edward Thomas", carbon typescript, (14 pages), with a few minor corrections in ink. A Foreword to Thomas' "The Green roads", published in 1965 -- "Some memories of Walter de la Mare", carbon typescript, (9 pages), with a number of minor holograph corrections -- "Foreword to You come too" (original title "Come with me" written on the title page, and crossed through and replaced with "You come too" in ink), carbon typescript, (14 pages), published (London: Bodley Head, 1964).
