520 |a A shocking exposure of silent repression and moral degradation. June 1982. Argentina is at war over the Falklands. Maria Teresa Cornejo is an assistant at the prestigious National School of Buenos Aires. Though timid and innocent, she wants to perform well at her job and win the approval of her supervisor, Señor Biasutto. He is held in high esteem because he drew up the lists on the Night of the Pencils, a notorious event in 1976 when secondary school pupils were rounded up by security forces and disappeared. Maria Teresa's desire to uncover boys misbehaving takes her to the cloakrooms, where her spying gives her unexpected pleasure. Señor Biasutto seems to tacitly approve of her mission, but then he brutally forces himself on her. She suppresses her humiliation for the sake of her duty, until public and private events collide.
