| Item Description: | Issued in slipcase. The Cushing Library/Lit./Mitchell copy is housed in a clamshell box which contains the bookplates of Simon Nowell-Smith and his wife, Judith Adams Nowell-Smith. The Cushing Library/Lit./Mitchell copy (first series) has a bookplate inscribed From the Emily & Gordon Bottomley bequest. The Cushing Library/Lit./Mitchell copy (second series) is inscribed by the author to Edward Thomas. The Cushing Library/Lit./Mitchell copy contains a handwritten description of the books and two pieces of correspondence. One piece of correspondence is a letter from the author to the dedicatee, Sarah Gordon (Aunt Sarah), of the first series; the other is a response from the dedicatee. Purchased for the Cushing Library/Lit./Mitchell Collection by The Cushing Library. |
