| Summary: | Esteban Peicovich recites Jorge Manrique's Coplas por la muerte de su padre. Peicovich interviews critic, historian, narrator, and poet Noe Jitrik. Jitrik is director of the Institute of Hispanic American Literature on the faculty of Philosophy and Letters at the University of Buenos Aires. He once was a principal researcher for CONICET and has taught at the National University of Cordoba, the University of Buenos Aires, the University of Besancon in France, and the National Autonomous University of Mexico. Jitrik has recently published Los grados de la escritura. He tells what his mission was in writing his most recently work and Peicovich reads fragments from this work. Jitrik talks about the subjective worth of literature, about people's writing approach, and of what writing is all about. He talks about reading habits among the youth and Peicovich gives a summary of the content in Jitrik's latest work. Peicovich continues interviewing the director of PROA magazine, Roberto Alifano, and gives a synopsis of the creation of the magazine. Alifano was born in General Pinto, Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1943. Many of his works have been translated into English, French, Portuguese, and Italian. He introduces the first few phases the magazine underwent, from its creation with Jorge Luis Borges and how the idea for it came about. |
