| Summary: | Esteban Peicovich reads some work by Hugo Caamaño. Peicovich interviews Caamaño, who was born in Cordoba, Argentina in 1923. Caamaño has worked as a photographer for newspapers El Diario Estandar and Democracia. Caamaño explains why his books are heard of very little. He talks about his upbringing and how it led to him becoming a writer. He talks about people in his life which were fundamental to his writing, such as Enrique Reimondi, Niche, and Domingo Faustino Sarmiento. Caamaño talks about his failed marriage and personal liberty. Writers he esteems include Pablo Neruda, Cesar Vallejo, and Walt Whitman. Caamaño reads a poem from, La casa del canto (1985), and an excerpt from Delirios de grandeza (1982). Peicovich reads from El que manda de lejos (1990) and La llama movediza (1997). Caamaño has published the books mentioned above as well as Ese Sarmiento (1952) and Imagenes fijas (1973). He is currently working on a book called dios, (with a small d). |
