Esteban Peicovich interviews Dr. Celina Lértora Mendoza, licensed Theologist and professor of Philosophy at the Catholic University of Argentina. Lértora Mendoza was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina where she studied and received her teaching certification. Later, she studied philosophy at the Catholic University of Argentina and went on to receive her doctorate at the Complutense University of Madrid, Spain. Lértora Mendoza is a researcher for CONICET and previously gave a five minute philosophical reflection broadcasts on Radio Municipal during Bernardo Ezequiel Koremblit's radio program. Lértora Mendoza talks about the abilities necessary to study Theology and recites one of her philosophical reflections. She talks about what sparked her interest in studying Argentine Colonial times. She also talks about the research and content of her second book, which was co-authored with Luis Farre, La filosofia en la Argentina, and discusses why she came to work with other books such as, Teoria de la ciencia and El mundo de los espiritus by Santo Tomas de Aquino. Lertora Mendoza reads a critique she has written about Ludwig Wittgenstein and talks about what Philosophy is all about. She and Peicovich discuss other philosophers such as Plato and Confucius. Lértora Mendoza has published 11 books relevant to Philosophy, Medieval Science and Argentinean Colonial Science. |
