Schettini is accompanied by Romina Freschi, Ximena Espeche, Marcela Jacobo, and Silvina Marino. Schettini works for Buenos Aires No Duerme. Each of the four poetesses being interviewed has won in the Buenos Aires No Duerme contest and are published in the anthology Buenos Aires No Duerme '98: Poesia: Autores seleccionados. Each poet describes and explains their point of view on the definition of poetry. Schettini compares his meaning to the contemporary meaning of poetry. Espeche talks about its use of language, and its valuable purpose. Jacobo defines poetry in terms of the poet and Marino borrows Juan Gelman's and explains it. Schettini talks about the publishing of the anthology, about the works that he receives, and how he feels about their writing approaches. He also talks about the process undergone when selecting the works to be published and why the works that were published were selected. Schettini talks about the recurrent themes that he reads in the submitted works. Each of the poetesses talks about the recurrent themes in their own works and reads one of their own poems. They also discuss the people that have been influencial in their careers as poets. Out of the four poetesses, Marino published Oda al vientre in April and Jacobo has published Azul de nunca. |
