Obligado was born in Barrio Norte, Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1950, where she graduated after studying Literature with Jorge Luis Borges. Obligado talks about how her background influenced her writing and about the circumstances in which she left Argentina for Spain at the age of twenty six. Obligado explains why her first book was published so long after her initial love for literature began. She and Peicovich discuss the contents and processes of writing her first work, Sobre Morpios y otros cuentos and her essay Cartas eroticas. Obligado currently resides in Madrid, Spain where has been living for the past 22 years. She is currently working on her own prose and she hosts writing workshops. Obligado has written short story books, cook books, essays about erotic literature, and two novels. |
