He talks about when he began writing poetry and the gradual development he went through in his attempt to understand the use of language in poetry. He talks about his discovery of the elements and composition of poetry. Sicardi talks about his particular discovery of the rhythm pattern used by Italian poets Montale and Cesare Pavese, and several others. He explains the use of language to create poetic imagery.
