Canton was born on June 9th and lived his early childhood in Carmelo, Uruguay. He soon moved to Buenos Aires, Argentina where he attended primary and secondary school. He studied Philosophy and Letters at the University of Buenos Aires and studied Sociology at UC Berkeley in the United States. Canton talks about the impact his father's death had on him at age 14. Canton talks about how his first two poetry books La saga del Peronismo (1961) and Corrupcion de la naranja (1968). He published his first sociology book El parlamento Argentino en epocas de cambio (1966) and later co-authored Abecedario medico Canton. Canton tells about his autobiographical work coming out soon and about the creation of the publication Asemal. He also reads two of his own poems. |
