Peicovich interviews biologist Susana Sommer, author of the collection, Biblioteca de las mujeres. One of the volumes in this collection is entitled Genetica, clonacion y bioetica: Como afecta la ciencia nuestras vidas? Sommer is a post-graduate Psychology professor at the University of Buenos Aires and collaborates in several specialized media works here and abroad. She talks about how our lives are innately tied to science. She also talks about changes in science and the media throughout time. Sommer talks about information overload and common ignorance. She addresses how the creation of new information and acquisition of scientific knowledge has changed throughout time. Sommer talks about the work of Gregor Mendel and about scientific phenomena having to do with genetics and inheritance. Other works she authored include De la ciguena a la probeta and Reproduccion, nuevas tecnologias, neither which are discussed. |
