Summary:Esteban Peicovich reads a text by Lope de Vega. Peicovich interviews Andres Rivera. Rivera talks about his first trade as a weaver and of how that later lead to his career as a writer. He presents the trades he learned in between the two and of his education. He talks about when he began writing his first novel El precio (1957), when he was 20 years old and of how he is working on it until present day. Rivera illustrates his home growing up and talks about his parents. He talks about how he was most influenced by Argentine writer Roberto Arlt. Peicovich and Rivera briefly discuss Socialism, Communism and Antonio Gramsci. Works Rivera has published, which are not further discussed include, Ajuste de cuentas (1972), Nada que perder (1982), La revolucion es un sueno eterno (1987), and El amigo de Baudelaire (1991). Rivera has also won the National Literature Award, 1992.
