García Montero talks about his city, Granada, his beginnings as a poet, poetry itself, the importance of reading a poem aloud, the status of poetry in the world and his urban poetry. He talks of the importance of poets to learn the theory of poetry, definitions of poetry by Sandburg, Becqué, Brecht, Mayakovsky and his own definition. García Montero has many published books of poetry and essay books and at the end of the interview reads several of his poems.
