Summary:Esteban Peicovich talks to Sixto Palavecino, a 77 year old poet and musician who was born in Barrancas, Salavina, Santiago del Estero Province, Argentina. Palavecino talks about his days during childhood and explains the meaning of being Quechua. Palavecino was influential as a player, a compiler of folk traditions, and in sustaining the Santiago Quechua language through his music. He also worked as a barber for many years. Palavecino tells how he started playing and building a violin at the age of 10. In addition, he tells that after building his first violin, his mother would not allow him to play because she said he would become crazy. Palavecino continues the conversation, plays the violin, and sings.
