Texts by Favart, in collaboration with Fagan, Marc Antoine René de Voyer, marquis de Paulmy d'Argenson, Parmentier, and others; music, often based on vaudevilles, mostly composed/arranged by Favart, also by A.B. Blaise, and others. Performed Paris, at the Théâtre de la Foire Saint Germain, Théâtre de la Foire Saint Laurent, and Comédie-Italienne, Paris, 1739-1744. Most have lists of "Acteurs" with named cast, but some name performers. Some includes airs (engraved music) at end, consisting of unaccompanied melodies. |
