Description
Summary:In the Mountain war project, the Cuban-American-Austrian composer Jorge E. López depicted the phenomenon of natural wildness in the mountains of Austria, his new home. The other main theme the composer addresses is the driving forces behind human activity. In this recent work, for video projection and pre-recorded orchestra using 8 channels spatialisation, Lopez examines the Alpine front during the First World War, in and around Dolomites. The central repertoire of sounds and images for this multi-media work comes from natural and orchestral sounds, mountain imagery and historical film material.
