Description
Summary:Willhelm graduated from Antwerp's prestigious Royal Academy of Fine Arts in 1998. During his studies he worked as an assistant to Alexander McQueen, Dirk Bikkembergs, Walter Van Beirendonck and others. A year after graduating he established a women's wear line under his own name in association with Jutta Kraus, immediately revealing a highly personal and wayward style. Their collections are markedly unconventional without degenerating into an anti-fashion statement, though they constitute a break with traditional European notions about beauty and style. Their clothing is eclectic, humorous, a patchwork of diverse influences and three-dimensional, organic forms. With a well-nigh childlike spontaneity the designers introduce voluminous garments with wild patterns, vibrant colours, texts and contrast-rich prints.
