Summary:	Suraj, a poor man whose life revolves around his mother, learns that he is in fact a wealthy man cheated out of his inheritance. When the Celestial Book of Prophecies (where the future is foretold) falls into his hands, he uses the book to his advantage and becomes a rich man. Meanwhile, Brahma the Creator sends his henchman Yama (the lord of death) and Chitragupt (the celestial book keeper) to get the book back. While they search for the book with disastrous consequences, Chhota Ravan, a criminal, kidnaps Suraj's mother and demands the book for ransom.
