Deane writes on a slip of accompanying text: "In 1999 the Out of Context Ensemble was commissioned by Jason Silverman to create and perform a musical score for the 1932 silent film 'Peter Pan.' The score was a conducted improvisation ... the music was different for each of the four screenings. ... I proposed the idea of combining all four of the recordings for the final mix. By this I meant not just editing together a 'best of' recording from the four screenings, but overlapping and mixing the four together, creating a 40-piece ensemble for the soundtrack CD."
