Queens was decommissioned in June 1946, and transferred to the War Shipping Administration. In 1948 she became the merchant ship Excambion and in 1965 the Texas Maritime Academy's training ship Texas Clipper. In 2006 she was transferred to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department Artificial Reef Program to be turned into an artificial reef. |
