| Summary: | A bacteriologist goes to Berlin to recuperate from stab wounds inflicted by his mentally-unbalanced wife (who is later institutionalized for treatment). A friend there introduces him to a dancer and is attracted to her right away. When she rejects him, he then moves to Paris, where he learns the dancer is sailing with her father to perform in America. He manages to catch up with her on the ship, but he gets turned down by her again. He is asleep and dreaming that he is exploring the lost continent of Atlantis (hence the title) when the ship starts to sink and panic ensues. |
