Abstract:	This document is the final report of the eighteenth session of the Fishery Committee for the Eastern-Central Atlantic (CECAF) which was held in Douala, Cameroon, from 3 to 5 October 2006. The major topics discussed were: adoption of the agenda and arrangements for the session, action on recommendations of the seventeenth session, main outcomes of the fourth session of the Scientific Sub-Committee, ecosystem approach to fisheries management, CECAF fishery resources inventory -- FIRMS, FAO FishCode -- STF activities on improvement of fishery data and information collection systems in CECAF countries, United Nations Fish Stocks Agreement and the management of highly migratory stocks in the region, implementation of the Code of Conduct for Responsible Fisheries (1995-2005), and lastly, role of CECAF in a region with three fisheries management bodies.
