The present edition is from Buckingham Smith's translation, first printed at Washington in 1851, made from the first part of the second Spanish edition printed at Valladolid, 1555, with title: La relacion y comentariõs del gouernador Aluar nuñez cabeca de vaca, de lo acaescido en dos jornadas que hizo a las Indias.
