Item Description:In the 2005 Solar Decathlon, 18 college and university teams from around the globe participated in a ten-part competition to design, build, and operate the most attractive and energy-efficient solar-powered home. This video follows the only team from California (California Polytechnic Institute, San Luis Obispo), as they design, build, and transport their house 3,000 miles to the National Mall in Washington D.C. to participate in the competition. Also explores the innovative homes from other schools and introduces the other student teams.
