| Summary: | Rallia, a young woman raised in Switzerland, travels to a barren Berber settlement in search of the family that gave her up for adoption shortly after her birth. Only her grandfather and aunt remain in the village, and she is told that her mother will soon arrive. When her mother does not get off the bus, Rallia leaves with her aunt on a road trip to the city. Through Rallia's eyes we see both the proud culture that calls itself Amazigh (the free men) and the everyday lives of women in Algeria. |
