Item Description:"... by means of which any sort of writings, taken from either the French, English, Dutch, Spanish, Portuguese or Italian languages ... can easily be rendered or converted into numerical figures."
Extracted from Wouves's planned work on steganography and made available to subscribers prior to publication of the whole. The work as a whole was never published.
Printed on verso are title pages and explanations, in French and English, of the table. These are set in page form. The table was evidently intended to be kept folded but opened for use "just as it is wont to do for the use of a geographical map."
