| Item Description: | Evans attributes this almanac, as he does nearly all those published under the Bickerstaff pseudonym, to Benjamin West. The attribution is traditional, but the majority of these almanacs can be shown to have been the work of other calculators. West, of Providence, R.I., is not known ever to have published an almanac in New York State. He issued none under his own name from 1788 to 1803. Advertised in the Albany gazette, October 19, 1795. List of books sold by C.R. and G. Webster, pages [41-46] and [48]. Electronic resource. |
