Item Description:Song in dialogue, in six stanzas, with chorus; first line: Sweet summer is coming the peach tree's in bloom.
Relief cut at foot (Reilly 1509) was used in Boston possibly as early as 1751. Relief cut at head (Reilly 1375) is believed to have been made by Isaiah Thomas while he was apprenticed to Zechariah Fowle of Boston. Used by Fowle in 1767 (Bristol B2802) and by Thomas in 1772 (Evans 12532) after he had purchased Fowle's press and printing office. Cf. Hamilton, Sinclair. Early American book illustrators ...
