| Item Description: | A satirical handbill on theatrical amusements. One edition (Bristol B3742) indicates that the original handbill "was stuck up at Richmond, on Saturday the 4th of June, 1774, close to the playbill for that day." Other editions were issued at Baltimore in 1774 (Evans 13182), Windsor, Vt., in 1789 (McCorison, M.A. Vermont, 2251), and New York in 1798. Later editions bear attribution to either Revised John Wesley or Rev. Rowland Hill. However, the handbill is not referred to in Tyerman's Life and times of Wesley (N.Y., 1872), which includes annual bibliographies of Wesley's publications, or in Sidney's The life of Rev.
