Item Description:Mistakenly attributed to Samuel Bownas by Hildeburn and Evans. Another account of Hanson's captivity, entitled "An account of the captivity of Elizabeth Hanson" was "taken in substance from her own mouth, by Samuel Bownas." That account was published in London in 1760 and again in 1787.
The only known copy, held by the Huntington Library, lacks title page and pages 37-40. Title page transcription based on an advertisement in the Pennsylvania gazette, Dec. 24, 1728.
