| Item Description: | Whittemore's almanac for 1727 was entitled A new almanack for ... 1727. Evans gives Thomas Fleet as the printer. The cut of the Anatomy on page [2] appeared in several Whittemore almanacs issued without imprints, of which 1716 and 1718 are also attributed by Evans to Fleet. It appeared later in Nathan Bowen's almanac for 1735, Whittemore's for 1738, and Joseph Stafford's for 1740, all published with Fleet's imprint. No other printer is known to have used it. The Man of Signs (Reilly 1783) is the only illustration. Page [15] includes an advertisement of the author's surveying services. Electronic resource. |
