| Item Description: | Identical in typography and contents, except for the imprint, with the almanac of the same title published at Philadelphia by William Dunlap. The series was continued by Dunlap but not by Gaine. Gaine's almanac, probably printed at Philadelphia, was not advertised in his New York Mercury. Parentheses substituted for square brackets in title transcription. Frontispiece signed "H.D." (probably Henry Dawkins). The portrait has legend: "Frederick the Third [i.e., Second] the great king of Prussia. J.M. ae. 14 sculp. 1758. Sold by J. Turner in Arch Street Philadelphia." The map is of the siege of Louisbourg. The other cuts are the Anatomy and calendar page illustrations. Electronic resource. |
