Item Description:Summoning a posse in order to execute the sentence against John Fries, Frederick Heany, and John Getman of Quakerstown. The men were convicted of treason for their part in a rebellion against federal taxation and sentenced to death, but shortly after the date of this summons, they were pardoned by Pres. Adams.
