By His Excellency Thomas Chittenden, Esquire ... a proclamation : Whereas the legislature of this state, at their session in June last, for the reasons hereafter exhibited, did extend their claim of jurisdiction ... I have therefore thought fit ... to issue this proclamation, and do hereby strictly require, charge and command all persons of whatsoever quality or denomination residing within the said western claim of jurisdiction, to take due notice of the laws and orders of this state ...
