| Item Description: | Attributed to Benjamin West by Evans and in Bates, A.C. "Check list of Connecticut almanacs, 1709-1850." Proceedings of the American Antiquarian Society, n.s. volume 24 (1914): 102, 109. But the extensive eclipse predictions are a close version of those in Nathan Daboll's The New-England almanack (New London) for this year; and in the calendar pages the calculations for the moon, most of those for the sun, and many of the astronomical notes are identical with Daboll's. Two settings of gathering C noted, with different contents throughout. One has "Anecdotes" at the foot of page [24]; the other has an advertisement for "Books of various kinds ..." in the corresponding position. Advertised in the Norwich packet, Oct. 10, 1793.
