Announcing the formation of the Historical Society, subsequently the Massachusetts Historical Society, and soliciting itemized information on local history from recipients of the circular. Signed by Jeremy Belknap, corresponding secretary, Boston, November 1, 1791.
"Conditional proposal" for the Apollo and space for subscribers' names, pages [2-5], 3rd count. Page [3], 3rd count, is numbered 4, in order that the proposal might be circulated with or without the circular letter.
