Item Description:The only known copy, held by the American Antiquarian Society, lacks the title page, pages 25-34, and all after page 38. Title assumed from p. v of "To the reader" in which Bolles asserts that he presented "... this following Answer of confutation ... to a general association of elders held at Hartford, the 15. of the 3d. month, 1730 [i.e., 1731, new style] ..."
Caption title: Touching God's creating the world, and all things of nothing.
The type ornament at head of page [1] (Reilly 44) is one used by James Franklin at this time.
"A few words respecting the sufferings of those eight persons that were so cruelly whipt at Norwich ... July 26. 1725 ..."-- pages [35]-38+.
