Summary:The CD-ROM contains two types of files, DSMW map sheets and derived soil properties files with images derived from the Soil map of the World. DMSW consists of the data from 10 map sheets: Africa, North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Central and Northeast Asia, Near East, Far East, Southeast Asia, and Australiasia. The maps are available in four formats: two vector formats (ARC/INFO Native and Export) and two raster formats (ERDAS and IDRISI). The derived soil properties files include programs that interpret the maps in terms of parameters such as pH, organic carbon content, C/N ratio, clay mineralogy, soil depth, soil and terrain stability for specific crop production, soil moisture storage capacity and soil drainage class.
