Description
Summary:Set in Berlin during the Weimar Republic, this film is the story of Franz Biberkopf, a man who has just been released from prison where he served four years for a violent act. He returns to his old neighborhood resolved to go straight but finds he cannot escape the influence of his criminal cohorts. When Franz refuses to pay "hush money" to the mob, his wife is murdered. As a result, Franz returns to a life of crime.
