God's dreadful judgments, on wicked and prophane swearers : Or, Fair warning to murderers, swearers, or jealous persons of either sex. A full and true account of one John Chambers of the town of Simer; in the county of York; who was hanged on the 6th of May 1725, having a very good woman to his wife, who bore him seven children, with whom he lived very contented for the space of thirteen years, but then growing jealous of her, he contrived to murder her and the seven children. I. How the Devil appeared to him, and put him in a way to murder his wife and children. [I]I. How he murdered his six youngest, and how he was prevented of murdering his eldest, by her prayers to God who set his angel to deliver her out of his hands. [III]. Likewise, how he was apprehended, and committed to the county goal, where he lay till the assizes. [IV.] His condemnation, and last dying speech at the place of execution. [L]icens'd and enter'd according to order.
