A reissue of 'Songs compleat, pleasant and divertive' published in 1719, with the drop-head title on page 1 and the running title in volumes 1 to 5 changed to: 'Pills to purge melancholy' and with the addition of a sixth and final volume dated 1720. The first two volumes mostly contain songs by the editor Thomas D'Urfey, with the remainder being those originally collected and published by Henry Playford.
