Abstract:	The literature dealing with the engineering properties of submarine soils was surveyed. A bibliography of 352 citations is presented dealing broadly with the engineering properties of marine sediments as well as with marine geology and relevant soil mechanics aspects of dry land soils to provide the broadest possible background in the subject.
