| Summary: | This thesis describes the design and implementation of the initial version of an interactive Electronic Variorum Edition Reader's Interface to serve the needs of various users from multiple backgrounds. The critical goals of such an interface are (1) to provide readers and scholars with higher availability and open access to the digital facsimiles and electronic texts of various editions of Don Quixote which are otherwise difficult to access, and (2) to compare the different editions or copies and create customized virtual editions by viewing and selecting the results of the collation process. |
