Description
Summary:The recent increase of mentoring programs for at-risk youth has brought to the forefront the need for researching the actual benefits and costs of such programs. While there are many studies of mentoring programs in the literature, few provide a controlled quantitative analysis of the effects of mentoring. Results from these studies are mixed, suggesting the need for an integrative quantitative review. In this study, meta-analytic procedures were used to clarify these findings and provide direction for both the practice and research of mentoring programs for at-risk youth.
