| Summary: | The standard 802.11 MAC protocol, for wireless networks, is a single channel implementation. In multihop wireless networks, scenarios can arise where a single channel MAC protocol may not perform as fairly as a 2-Channel MAC protocol. By having 2 channels, one for CONTROL packets and the other for DATA, control information can be sent on the CONTROL channel, even though the DATA channel may be busy. This may improve the fairness of the MAC protocol. In this thesis, a 2-channel protocol has been implemented and evaluated. |
