Description
Summary:This work is devoted to the study of a specific inhomogeneous deformation in incompressible Mooney-Rivlin and neo-Hookean materials. The deformation under study is a case of "proportional stretch". Classes of models that can support special deformations can serve as a good source of information for choosing models that are appropriate for modeling the response of materials. It is important to determine if deformations that are experimentally viable are possible within the context of special constitutive theories. This work aims to provide some useful information in this regard. The formation of "boundary layers" is also studied.
