Summary:Shows towns, rivers, forests along the route of the U.S. Army 5th Armored Infantry Division during World War II as it moved from the Rhine River's Ruhr region on 31 March 1945, continuing the push through Germany, and reaching the Elbe River on 12 April 1945. Finding all bridges destroyed, the Division "held Elbe River Line until relieved on 16 April when Corps ordered it west to Ehra-Brome-Salzwedel area to repel atck from north between 16 & 23 April. The enemy 'Von Clausewitz Division' was destroyed or captured by CC's, Div. Arty. and Air."
