Description
Summary:The study had three purposes. The first was to analyze the perceptions expressed by community college faculty before receiving training in distance technology. The second purpose was to analyze the perceptions expressed by community college faculty after they have received training in distance technology. The third purpose was to examine distance education training effectiveness based on a comparison of pre-training and post-training perceptions of distance education. Forty community college faculty and staff members participated in this study. These individuals participated in a pre-test interview. After the pre-test, the individuals participated in technology training. Following the training process, the individuals participated in a post-training interview session. Data from the two interview sessions were recorded, analyzed and conclusions were made. This research study formulated two major conclusions. First, data indicated that for these forty community college faculty and staff members, technology training can change their perceptions of distance technology. Secondly, this group of forty community college faculty and staff members all demonstrated benefits from technology training.
