Description
Summary:A story based upon the discrimination against Japanese Canadians and Americans during and after WWII. When Mary's Japanese American neighbor is bussed away to a camp, the little girl promises to care for his garden and his pond full of koi. When he doesn't return and his house is sold she and her grandmother free the koi. Mary takes two flag tulips and a stone and begins her own garden.
